This week a two pack primer coat is being applied to the prepared steel. As soon as two coats have been applied the scaffolding and sheeting will be removed to reveal the new look. We can’t wait.
The bulkhead that will form the entrance to the whaleback is now being constructed. This will include a new cleaning cupboard on the port side of the existing exit from forward accommodation and an entrance and serving hatch to starboard. As shown above, the view is look aft onto the foredeck.
Meanwhile deck fittings continue to be cleared in preparation for the new kit store racking and dehumidifier.
With the exception of a small area where the scaffolding sits the whaleback roof is now complete.
All the seams are fully welded, gutters added and a central safety rail for accessing.
The primer coat is next and then the scaffolding will be coming down.
