Spray foam insulation going on
With the hot works on the lookout shell complete and just before the Christmas break, the spray foamers moved in. After doing such a great job on the Whaleback – they were recalled to do this space too! Two days and lots of foam later, the space is warmer and ready for the electricians to do their first fix before the lining starts.
Our contractors cutting the windows
New windows on the port side of Trinity
With the Christmas break fast approaching, our aim is to get all the hot works finished so that the spray foaming can happen, followed by the first fix of the electrics.
With the lookout fully welded up, it was time to cut in the new windows – out contractors soon got to work and we now have 3 windows looking out each side. It’s taking shape and we’re getting excited thinking about all that this new space is going to give us to better serve our groups.
The new extended lookout fabrication work is coming to an end.
Once the hot works have finished, the room will be spray foam insulated before the lining out starts.
Windows are being made to order and doors are being fitted. In fact one door is being recycled! Can you guess from where?
The last few weeks has seen quite a change to our lookout… it’s going to be a great space.
The stern wall has been completely removed, the ladder up from the forward lobby has gone and the floor sealed up.
The whole room has been stripped back to reveal the metal structure which has now been extended to the light tower. Currently the roof is being welded up and within a few days it will be fully sealed. Our electrician comes in Wednesday and the room will hopefully be spray-foamed the following week.
