Today, half the old engine room was insulated with 100mm of fire retardant spray foam.

So it will be cosy in winter and cool in the summer!

Next in are our electricians and plumbers to do their first fix!

Preparing for the heat pump…

On Monday, our heat pump arrives, and the only way to get it onboard is to cut a hole in the side deck!!

Don’t worry, the opening is needed!!

Next week Chris and his team at Frank Halls & Son will be installing a structural steel and opening up a four metre section of the side deck to make the new entrance to the helical stair case!

Lining the atrium…

In preparation for the staircase, the new circular hole through the centre of the ship is being lined with steel.

Here Frank Halls’ team are lifting another plate into place before they weld it.

Once fitted it is adjusted and secured.

Stroods first fix…

This week Stroods, a local fitting out firm, have been onboard to build the walls and ceiling structure for the new toilets and showers. Neil, our architect, is discussing the detail around the port holes.

Here you can see more of the area taking shape…

New Heating Pipes going in…

Under the new floor in the engine room space, Darren, the lead heating engineer from Lindseys is planning and installing the new copper pipe work.

You can also see the temporary white flexible pipes that are keeping the ship heating and hot water running in the interim.

Upper Saloon portholes…

Back upstairs in the upper saloon the lining out is nearing completion.

The last job is to fit out the port hole window boxes. Seb is doing a great job and they are going to look amazing.

Then it is on to electrics, woodwork, AV install, underfloor heating, carpets and cushions!!

Here there are almost completed!
